Malaysia

Singapore

Hong Kong

Some useful links for those looking at researching Hong Kong genealogy are available at Christine Thomas’ website.
Family Search has very good PDF links on their website to a Genealogy information timeline of various records alongside several links to Chinese records.

Indian Subcontinent

The BBC have a family history guide for finding genealogy information about the Indian Subcontinent. It covers all of the countries listed here.

 

Indian
The British Library have a record of 300,000 births, marriages, deaths and burials that can be freely searched for mainly British and European people in India c.1600-1949.https://indiafamily.bl.uk/ui/home.aspx

The Families in British India Society have more transcribed records from the period of British colonisation. Researchers can join the society as a member for a £15 yearly fee for access to journals and help from research officers. http://www.fibis.org/


Bangladesh
Forebears have accessible records for Bangladesh available online and they also include greater Indian records. http://forebears.co.uk/bangladesh

Pakistan
